Healthy choices and hearty soups

Dear friends!

I hope you are enjoying each and every moment of your life and taking care about your soul and body.
You need to make one healthy choice at a time. Then you make another one. It's OK to make mistakes.
Studies show that if you eat soup as the first course of a meal you consume 20% less calories during the meal itself. Did you know that Japanese and some other nationalities eat soups even for breakfast?
So don't forget to have a bowl of soup at least once a day. Try to do it from scratch. If you don't have time, cook it once a week or once a month and freeze. Here are some ideas:


  • Split pea and ham soup
  • Bean and ham soup
  • Vegetable beef soup
  • Chicken tortilla soup

Mercury, slow eating and healthy snacks.

Hello, everyone!!

How have you been these days? 

Do you remember that today a special astrological Mercury period started and would be over on February 12th? You are not supposed to start anything new, to buy anything expensive, you are supposed to finish you previous business. 

So today I would ask you to think what you ate recentely. Were you eating in the car, watching TV? Were you in a hurry? 

Please, slow down today. Take all distractions away while you eat. 

Write down a list of foods that you can eat instead of your usual treat: greek yougurt with honey instead of ice cream, dried cranberries instead of candies. 

Think of some other options: pineapple cubes with shredded coconut, mango cubes with plain yougurt, toast with goat cheese, etc.

A chain of sails across the clouds

The Millau viaduct bridge connects Paris to Barcelona.
Officially opened in 2004, its 2,460m length spans the Tarn River above the clouds.  This bridge has broken all the records – it is the highest in the world, with one pylon reaching 343m into the air and attached to the ground in only 7 places. 
The viaduct was destined for Guinness: it has the highest road deck in Europe, the tallest piers and highest bridge tower in the world, and the longest launch of a bridge deck. It even displaced the Eiffel Tower as the country’s tallest structure.

The architects wanted the structure to look as delicate as possible, almost floating so motorists would feel as if they were flying their cars.

What we need to do the first thing today is to promise yourself to find time for yourself EVERY DAY! I know, it's hard. But you gotta spend at least 16 minutes a day doing something just for you: walk, take a hot aroma bath, chat with a friend, read - anything that makes you happy! That's a must!
Tonight, you go to bed 40 minutes earlier. You'll be glad you did tomorrow! Try to do it more often. It is better to get up 20 minutes earlier and finish whatever you need to. 
Protein is the key to success! Increasing protein, especially if you're not getting enough, can help with feelings of fullness and weight loss. It works!!!! If you're consistently low on protein, find some ways to add more protein-rich foods like low-fat cheese, nuts and grilled seafood. Your dinner is supposed to be only proteins and fats, no carbohydrates.

3 missions possible

Today we have three missions. 
  • Try a new healthy food. Asparagus, rainbow chard, shiitake mushrooms, tahini, etc. Choose whatever you like and try!
  • Sitting is not good for you, so your challenge today is to get up and move at least once an hour. Whether you do some jumping jacks, walk to the water cooler, or try a few stretches, every little bit counts! 
  • We all are fast eaters these days. Today we eat each meal for at least 26 minutes. Quite a challenge, hah?! Savor food, feel all the textures and flavors of the food.

Probiotics, slow-chewing and walking the neighbour's dog.

Hello there!!! Did you have your morning oil and lemon juice for lunch?  How did you like the scrub? I bet it made you feel good. We have to learn to love ourselves. You need to fall in love with yourself, your body, your voice, your soul. That the first rule!!!
Let's talk about portions today. We eat big portions. Try not to eat in front of the TV or computer. Serve beautiful meal, lay the table, smell and taste every bite you eat, enjoy it. I noticed that my daughter eats very slowly. When we all finish the second portion she barely finishes the first one.
It is very important to chew well every bite.
Make yourself a good breakfast today and enjoy every bite of it.
To our oil-lemon juice routine we add probiotics. These are really good for you!
  • Yogurt
  • Drinkable and squeezable yogurts
  • Fluid milk with added probiotics
  • Fermented milk such as sweet acidophilus milk
  • Kefir
Why not give some fermented dairy products a try today? 

If you have a dog that's great- you have a perfect walking buddy. If you don't - ask your friends and neigbours to walk their dog twice a week. It would be help for them and you would benefit from walking outside. You can start right away!

Olive oil, lemon juice and coffee scrub

How r u today? Feeling better?

Today we'll have a spoon of olive oil (or any other oil you prefer) in the morning and  some lemon juice with lunch. We will do it for 6-9 days.

Have a cup of coffee and make an awesome coffee scrub to apply during your shower: used ground coffee + olive oil+honey+salt.

Done?  Great!!!

New Year Resolution

Traditionally we all make New Year resolutions and try to stick to them. Are you ready?
Here we start.
Today we do this workout. As I am very lazy, I stopped the video twice. As long as you are determined to stick to it and to achieve your goal to be healthy and fit you'll get there eventually.
